He Lives On – Remembering Charles Correa on his second death anniversary

Charles Correa

Minaz Ansari, who is an architect, educator and a writer – and a published author – shared a poem she wrote on India’s greatest architect, Charles Correa.

The poem was written last year, when Minaz visited Portuguese Church designed by Charles Correa, along with her students from Rizvi College of Architecture, Mumbai.

He Lives On

We went out on a whim,
in search of a piece of him;
Only to discover he lives on,
In every brick and every stone;
In every space chaste as a prayer,
A piece of him lies everywhere.

– Minaz Ansari
